THANK YOU ETERNITY

I woke up a bit angry, not much goin’ my way.
But, I stepped back and took a fresher look,
as I open my front door, and felt
my mood change just walking down the driveway.
Cool clean air touched my eyes
and the sun was a brilliant white.
The air smelled sweet and clean, and
beautiful azure blue were the skies.
Squirrels playing on rocks,
like there only purpose is having fun.
Crows scolding babies that need to learn,
amidst honking horns and flooded gutters.
The world, such a beautiful crazy place.
I wonder how I came to exhist in this chaos.
How did it happen that I was given life?
How did it happen that we are all here?
I guess a devine spark made it happen.
I was given his body to do with as I will.
I’m free to choose what I believe in
among countless treasures and
all life’s joys in generous measures.
But as I wander out my front door,
I think troubles and strife, yeah, I had that too.
But I now feel the warm sun upon my skin
I’m overcome by chills and a thrill.
What did I do to deserve you,
and oh what a perfect life this is been.
We crossed each stream and climbed every hill.
You, my soulmate and love of my life,
you complete me so, my every thought is of you.
I love you so much — my wife.
I watch squirrels play on rocks and
I guess nature tells them what to do.
My only purpose is loving you.
Time has passed but,
years are as seconds and
our love just grew and grew
