Tell Me So

You don’t need to know
the thoughts in my head.
You can’t know all
the feelings that I have.
You don’t need to know
what gladdens my heart
or breaks my heart instead.
All you need to know is
said with a soft and gentle touch
and the words, “I love you so very much”…
I touched my lips to yours, or
did you touch your lips to mine?
Oh my dear, let’s close our eyes
and take lots and lots of time.
This feeling that you give me
each and every time,
I feel the love that’s there,
all these things let me know
and will always — tell me so.
