SEND ME NOTES BABY
Maybe we could write beautiful music together.

(verse)

It’s the middle of the night

and I couldn’t sleep again.

I was so sick of this fight

I asked God, will I ever win.

Did you love me, was it true?

Did you ever love me

as much as I loved you?

You flirted with Joe and Tony

I first I thought it was funny

but the looks you gave……

days turned rainy, not sunny.

I would’ve been your slave

Hid my eyes from the taunt

but was it so hard to behave?

Well, it is what it is ,

and we want what we want.

(chorus)

Yesterday was so light and free

it was hard to believe you were real

maybe it’s the way that you love me

or it’s the way you make me feel.

When we’re just being we

I’m walking on clouds

and no one can touch me.

It’s heaven to feel so proud.

you’re a part of who I am

in this joy that just began

I don’t know if that’s good or not, but I tried.
The main purpose of the chorus is to be memorable. On the other hand, a verse is primarily designed to advance the story of a song. Hence, choruses are usually shorter, catchier, and melodically interesting. Verses usually stay more or less the same throughout, with the exception of the lyrics.

How many times have you heard people say, oh I couldn’t do that. Well of course they can’t. Can’t never did anything.
I don’t have a clue about how to write music. That includes both the lyrics as well as the actual musical notes.
Listen to this beautiful song. Can you separate the chorus from the verse?
Maybe I’m a purist but I feel that you must always write from your own real-life experiences and never try to make up anything.
I like to play album such as this when I’m writing. I never imitate. I go 180° away from imitate, but emulate, oh yes. The tempo of a beautiful song like
“Faithfully“ ”is wonderful to emulate.
Keep in mind you’re not in any way using his scenario. Perhaps your studying the way the music is arranged.
The rhyming sequence and the number of syllables to each line. These things are like training wheels for a beginning music writer.
Identify the pre-chorus, with chorus, verse one, chorus, verse 2 and the exit called the outro . Oh yeah, I picked up a few terms here and there.
But you will be using your own life experiences.
it’s terrifying to try to write music because I know for sure I’m going to look stupid and make lots of mistakes and whatever I create is not going to be very good.
I am fortunate to be a member of Medium where it’s easy to get over your fear of looking silly or stupid because we’ve probably all hit the publish button so many times when we were afraid to do so, but we did it anyway.
They say you have to write 100 songs before you can even get one fairly good one. It’s a terrifying challenge because after I learned how the lyrics work, I’ve got to go and learn musical note arrangement. I don’t know anything about music so this ought to be interesting as to what I come up with. I’ll show you in the future, if you promise not to laugh too hard. (Unless what I wrote was meant to be funny in which case, laugh to your hearts content.)
