I WON’T READ YOUR LETTER

I will not read the last thing that you wrote.

I started reading, but words made me choke

I know, they’re only words, just paper showing letters

and words from your mind and hand,

reading it, I would know you better

and remove all the mystery that I can.

But who would want to do that,

and remove all that mystique ?

the loveliness flies to and fro

to torment my interest's pique.

No, I’ll put your letter away,

I COULD NOT read another word.

What if you had to say goodbye to me

and that was the last thing that I heard

and I couldn’t read any further,

I WOULD NOT read another word.

I cannot lose my breath

while I’m losing my mind

If you never write another word

I’ll take that as a sign.

I’m denying that I love you

because you asked me to,

but last night I had a dream

I kissed your cheek

and I wish it was true.

and now I can’t stop crying

I love you so, true blue, I do

You see darling,

To never finish reading your letter

The possibilities are endless

of what could have been

of life so full of pure bliss. And

If I never read your letter

there’ll never be an end to this.
