HEY NOW, HEY NOW !

WOW, I didn’t see that coming.
You know how it seems like you keep dropping your toast and it lands butter side down every time ?
I played this song this morning and I felt it coming. All of a sudden my brain tells the story, and my tears are the only witness. I have no idea why a simple pretty song would hit me like a ton of bricks.
Here’s the thing, I’m not even quite sure what the song is about but I just started crying like my puppy just got run over. I’m a very emotional boy and I admit it. I don’t expect it’s going to have the same affect on you as it did on me because everybody’s different especially in the mind.

Not being very familiar with this song that had such an impact on me, I went to my music on Amazon and entered the song title. Apparently it’s very popular among several artists, but I have a special place in my heart for Diana Krall. Her soft mellow voice can sooth a troubled heart. She sings of loves promise for a happy and fulfilling life. If she became interested in singing this particular song, then I want to know exactly what it means. It obviously had a huge impact on her and me. I posed that question to Quora and this is what they had to say:

“Don’t Dream It’s Over” explores themes of hope, resilience, and the challenges of life. The song reflects on moments of struggle and uncertainty, suggesting that despite difficulties, it’s important to maintain a sense of optimism and not give up on dreams or relationships.
(That’s probably the part right there it was breaking my heart. Especially, not giving up on relationships.)

The lyrics convey a sense of vulnerability, addressing feelings of isolation and the fear of losing something important. ( it’s as though the writer of this song crawled into my head and is reading my mind.)
However, the recurring refrain encourages listeners to remain hopeful and to keep pushing through adversity. The line “There is freedom within, there is freedom without” suggests that true freedom comes from within oneself, even in the face of external challenges. (I pray for strength.)

Overall, the song resonates with anyone who has faced hardships, reminding them that while obstacles may arise, it’s crucial to hold onto hope and keep moving forward.

I unknowingly tapped into a beautiful thing that my mind needed today. Quite frankly, I’m having an emotional crisis. I know it’s not so, but sometimes, life can make you feel like a fool. I just need to grab onto solid things that I know and love. I know that this thing that I wrote today is not very gregarious. Just discussing one particular song is a small thing. But somehow, going back to small important fulfilling things is the best place to start to get your life back on track where it belongs. I think this It is fitting………………

AMEN.
