I tried to pretend that you didn’t matter.
I tried to pretend , I didn’t care.
That you have your life and I have my life
and will both get to Valhalla with or without the fare.
I will never try to do that again.
Just that thought made me hurt so bad .
So bad I would do anything to make it stop.
I deep dove into my darkest place.
The place where I don’t care anymore.
The place that’s just too much to bear
The place where you want to scream and
beg for help from Jesus, because it hurts so bad.
If you are wondering what this is leading up to,
I walked out on the tight rope to meet you.
I had no fear and neither did you.
When we came into each other’s lives,
you immediately entered my heart.
Every voice inside of me said, this one is different.
She could be trusted. You finally got it right !
This is a holy girl, she doesn’t know her own strength.
She’s beautiful inside and out in the best part of her is
is that she doesn’t even know it…..
and therefore, she’s not full of self pride.
Without reservations, I opened myself up.
I bring nothing to the table, Laura, except
my dedication to be your best friend.
